Celebrity trend, Orthognathic Surgery is simple? Many Precautions

Orthognathic surgery, a new trend in plastic surgery among celebrities is raising yet another standard of beauty which was established by previously wide-spread procedures such as rhinoplasty and eye surgeries.
Last year a male Korean comedian had to get orthognathic surgery due to his health condition. The way his look changed became a hot issue to the public. Later another female Korean comedian used orthognathic operation due to her malocclusion.
Also, not a long time ago another male Korean celebrity confessed that he was finally able to experience the “the freshness of the pickle while eating noodles,” which was something he wasn’t able to do before the orthognathic surgery.
However, recently celebrities have been turning towards orthognathic surgery for their careers rather than medical reasons. They use it for change in their looks while developing new acting persona.
“Orthognathic operation” stands for simultaneous operation on upper and lower jaws to correct protruding mouth, short chin, protruding chin, etc. It is known for being one of the difficult surgeries as human jaw is surrounded by numerous nerves and blood vessels. Thus, when first introduced, it was not used for the patients who simply sought to improve their looks. However, as the demand for this surgery is rising from the public, it is troubling that reckless execution of the procedure in some clinics can cause damage to the health of patients.
Orthognathic operation is a risky surgical procedure. Due to its close relation to the collaborative system of the maxillary function, safety must be the priority.
From the professional perspective, due to its contraindications, orthognathic operation should be taken with great cautiousness. For a patient it is important to find an experienced oral surgeon who can properly identify the occlusion state of teeth rather than simply focus on the aesthetic aspect of the procedure.
Orthognathic operation is a good solution for those with asymmetric face, protruding mouth, etc. However, as mentioned before, in order to guarantee safety and manage emergencies, one must visit a hospital with high level of success cases.
